A column in *El Universo* questions whether Milei's administration is truly libertarian

In a column published in El Universo, the author argued that no country has ever fully implemented libertarian principles and that the only government that unambiguously identifies as such is that of Javier Milei. Even so, he questioned whether it truly is one and argued that upholding those principles while in power requires engaging in politics, compromising when necessary, and not becoming entrenched in purist positions.

For the columnist, there has been progress in Argentina, but the overall outcome leaves him unsatisfied: “We must acknowledge the president’s certain skill, but we’re left wanting more.” He added that labor and tax reforms remain unconfirmed and that a genuine libertarian commitment would be evident in far-reaching reforms, such as removing the state’s control over monetary policy through dollarization—a measure he considered suboptimal but feasible.
