Peru’s *El Comercio* reported that Amnesty International will file complaints this week against Javier Milei with the IACHR and the United Nations. The reason is the insults and intimidation that the Argentine president directed at five journalists who were investigating the cryptocurrency $LIBRA.

Those affected are Hugo Alconada Mon, Carlos Pagni, Paulino Rodrigues, Natalia Volosin, and Luis Novaresio. The organization believes that Milei publicly singled them out after the Argentine courts cleared him of any wrongdoing in that case. Mariela Belski, executive director of Amnesty International in Argentina, stated that a head of state who evokes bonfires and targets journalists crosses a very serious line. FOPE requested the intervention of the UN Special Rapporteur, and the IAPA warned of daily attacks.
