Milei travels to Washington to demonstrate his alignment with Trump
Javier Milei will return to Washington on October 14 to demonstrate his closeness to Donald Trump just a few weeks before the U.S. midterm elections, scheduled for November 3. The White House has not confirmed a meeting between the two presidents, so their relationship will be demonstrated through other activities on his agenda.
On October 15, the Argentine president will address business leaders from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during a panel discussion that will also feature Energy Secretary Chris Wright. There, he will defend his reforms and seek to instill confidence in investors, although, according to El Nacional, his government is facing challenges in employment, consumption, and investment. The tour also includes an event against anti-Semitism and an award at the Hispanic Heritage Gala. El Nacional notes as background Trump’s support for Mauricio Macri, whose economic program led to a deep crisis.
