The United Kingdom Rejected Milei's Pressure Regarding a Ship to the Malvinas Islands

milei.news

Paraguay’s ABC newspaper reported that the United Kingdom rejected what it considers attempts by Javier Milei’s administration to intimidate companies and individuals involved in supplying the Malvinas Islands. The source of the tension is a Chilean cargo ship scheduled to set sail in December from Punta Arenas bound for the islands with goods for the archipelago.

London stated that it will not tolerate blockades of permitted commercial transactions and argued that companies should be allowed to make decisions without government interference. British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband called such actions unacceptable. Meanwhile, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno stated that he had not received formal notice of the voyage and that certain sectors are attempting to pit the two countries against each other; he also ruled out any plans to attack the ship.
