Argentina will have three holidays in November to mark Pope Leo XIV's visit

Javier Milei’s administration officially established by decree a series of staggered holidays to coincide with the pontiff’s visit: On November 9, there will be no work throughout the country; on the 10th, the holiday will apply to Córdoba and the city of Buenos Aires; and on the 11th, to the Buenos Aires district, according to the Paraguayan newspaper ABC. The decree, signed by the president, cites the need to manage traffic and coordinate security and logistics operations. A task force was also established within the Office of the Chief of Staff to oversee the organization of the trip.
Argentina will be the second stop on Pope Leo XIV’s first tour of Latin America. He will arrive on Sunday the 8th: a tribute at the San Martín monument and a meeting with Milei at the Casa Rosada. This will be followed by Masses in Buenos Aires and Córdoba, a vigil with young people, meetings with labor unions and business leaders, visits to a home for people with disabilities and a federal prison, and a celebration in Luján before departing for Peru.
