RSF drove a truck through Paris displaying Milei's statements against journalists

Coinciding with Javier Milei’s arrival in France, Reporters Without Borders staged a protest in the French capital: a truck that will drive around for several days displaying messages from the Argentine president taken from his X account. Its executive director, Thibaut Bruttin, spoke to the press next to the vehicle and called for freedom of expression to be included on the agenda for the meeting with Emmanuel Macron. “This is clearly a threat to press freedom,” he stated, according to ABC.

The organization also presented a report on the president’s activity on that platform between April and May 2026: the vast majority of posts were reposts, and only a fraction were his own original content. The largest category consists of allegations of corruption against journalists. Meanwhile, an association of Argentines living in France called for a protest at the Trocadéro and is demanding that the Paris city government declare him persona non grata.
