Milei traveled to Paris to seek investors as Argentina's economy slows down

The French radio station RFI reported that Javier Milei led a business forum dedicated to Argentina at the OECD headquarters in Paris, where he served as the country’s main advocate before major French companies. Among the attendees from the French side, he mentioned the top executives of Total, Eramet, and Danone. The president arrived with a large delegation: Ministers Luis Caputo and Federico Sturzenegger, a dozen governors—several from Andean mining provinces—the head of YPF, and the president of the Rural Society.

According to the media outlet, Milei offered 30-year tax breaks for large-scale projects, highlighting Vaca Muerta and the opening up of the mining sector following the relaxation of the glacier law. RFI framed this tour against a backdrop of adverse domestic conditions: falling GDP, business closures, loss of formal jobs, weak consumer spending, and a sharp increase in households in arrears.
