The Buenos Aires Herald reported the results of a survey by the consulting firm Management & Fit, according to which more than 69% of those surveyed said their main personal difficulties are financial. Making ends meet topped the list (22%), followed by loss of purchasing power (17%) and family debts (10%). More than half of the households surveyed acknowledged having trouble covering expenses, with the problem being more prevalent among women, people with lower levels of education, and those over 40.

The newspaper contrasted these figures with official statements: Minister Luis Caputo had promised the “best 18 months” in recent decades. It also noted that registered wages have fallen 3.4% since the start of the administration, that unemployment has risen from 6.2% to 7.9%, and that household delinquency has climbed to record levels.
