Milei's government is confident that Flávio Bolsonaro will win in Brazil

The Argentine government expressed confidence that Flávio Bolsonaro will win Brazil’s runoff election, scheduled for October 25. This was conveyed by the presidential spokesperson, Adrián Ravier, who noted that Javier Milei’s support for the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro is explicit.

The numbers give him a lead: in the first round on October 4, Flávio Bolsonaro received 47% of the vote, compared to Lula’s 45%. A Datafolha poll released last week showed that lead holding steady at 52% to 48%. When asked about the Brazilian Supreme Court’s ruling requiring Eduardo Bolsonaro, the candidate’s brother, to begin serving his sentence, Ravier said that the timing of the ruling caught their attention, though he declined to comment on foreign legal matters. Milei is scheduled to travel to Washington this Tuesday, where the Argentine press has not ruled out a run-in with Eduardo Bolsonaro.
