Sanguinetti lashed out at Milei over his attacks on the press and his governing style
Former Uruguayan President Julio María Sanguinetti harshly criticized Javier Milei following his latest visit to Spain, where he did not meet with officials. According to Montevideo Portal, Sanguinetti said the Argentine president is making serious mistakes and expressed concern about his behavior toward journalists, whom he frequently insults. He also linked Milei to a governing style based on confrontation and late-night social media posts, similar to that of Donald Trump. This is not the first warning from the Uruguayan leader: even before the Argentine elections, he had questioned Milei’s lack of reliability and later described him as a populist president. His statements caused a stir in Argentina.
