Baires Fly, the company that owns the private jet on which Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro arrived in Miami via Argentina and Ecuador, is under investigation by Argentine authorities for an alleged corruption scheme involving public funds, according to Montevideo Portal.

The connection to Javier Milei emerges in two ways. The president used one of the company’s aircraft for his first international trip after the 2023 elections, a trip financed by businessman Gerardo Werthein, who was later appointed ambassador to Washington. In addition, the case centers on the National Disability Agency, which Milei placed under the control of his former personal attorney, Diego Spagnuolo. Investigators suspect inflated bids, invoices for flights that never took place, and illegal payments, and the courts have ordered the freezing of executives’ assets and the confiscation of aircraft.
