milei.news

The media unions SiPreBA and ARGRA reported that at least seven journalists were struck by rubber bullets and dozens were affected by tear gas during a march in front of Congress in Buenos Aires, according to ABC. The protest called for more funding for higher education. The organizations stated that federal agents directly targeted identified reporters and that there were also incidents of beatings with batons and pepper spray. The Ministry of Security, for its part, initiated criminal proceedings against those who participated in the disturbances, accusing them of resisting arrest and causing property damage. The Buenos Aires Ombudsman’s Office stated that most of the demonstration was peaceful, but a hooded group threw projectiles. Opposition parties characterized the response as state repression.
