Chilean Minister Insulted Milei and Then Apologized

Chile's Minister of Housing, Iván Poduje, said that Argentine President Javier Milei was losing his mind during a business forum in Santiago and, hours later, apologized on X for his inappropriate comments. According to The Rio Times, Chilean President José Antonio Kast stated in La Paz that such incidents would not happen again.

The Chilean government considered the matter closed and did not announce any sanctions; Interior Minister Claudio Alvarado declined to confirm whether there had been a formal complaint from Argentina. The tension arises amid disputes over the Strait of Magellan and the planned voyages of a Chilean ship to the Malvinas Islands in November.
